Breakout 2: Strategic Synergy: Aligning State CTE Plans for a Future-Ready Workforce

Placing Career Technical Education (CTE) and Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) plans in one document doesn’t automatically break down silos and create seamless connections where educational pathways and supportive services meet. In this session, we'll explore how states effectively created and implemented combined state Career and Technical Education (CTE) and Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA) plans needed to build a future-ready workforce, including successful practices and tools for collaborative planning and harmonizing education and workforce requirements.  
Learning objectives:
  • Gain insights on the key takeaways from state-level examples of CTE and workforce alignment that have resulted in best practices and innovative approaches to implementation. 
  • Discuss actionable strategies and opportunities to help align state CTE combined plans with current and future workforce needs.
  • Develop skills for planning, executing, and evaluating integrated CTE/ WIOA plans that address career pathway, workforce, and supportive service integration.
