2024 Advance CTE Fall Meeting

The modernized National Career Clusters Framework offers opportunities to further modernize CTE systems by encouraging more interdisciplinary and interconnected CTE programs of study and experiences across learner levels. These ideation sessions will offer a space for participants to engage in collaborative thinking and problem solving to help move the needle on key policies, practices, and partnerships to jumpstart the adoption and implementation of the newly released Career Clusters Framework.

High-quality CTE programs integrate credentials that are valued by industry and align with state and local economic needs. However, meaningful processes to identify and incentivize completion of high-value credentials are still a work in progress for many states.  This session will showcase early learnings from Advance CTE’s 2025 State of CTE report on Credentials of Value and include a conversation with state leaders who are leveraging promising and innovative strategies related to credential quality and completion.

Learning objectives:

• Provide an overview of early research and findings related to the 2025 State of CTE: Credentials of Value report. 
• Share innovative and promising strategies related to credentials of value.
• Facilitate discussion between participants regarding successes and challenges they are facing when identifying and incentivizing credentials.

Teacher and educator shortages are a persistent national crisis, especially for Career Technical Education (CTE). This session will feature state leaders providing collaborative approaches to addressing recruitment and retention challenges, including strategic planning, barriers to entry and position benefits, professional development, and more. Discover how these state leaders are leveraging cross-agency and regional intermediaries to attract and support the teacher and educator workforce in their state. Through trivia and resources galore, you will learn about the latest initiatives and legislation in recruitment and retention.
